Our room was amazing, we thought they'd put us in the wrong room. The room was huge and the bathroom too. Breakfast was great, but you weren't able to choose your own cooked breakfast so you could choose what you wanted, as it was brought to you. However the breakfast was very nice. The lounge area was so sumptuous, and the chairs were huge. You could order at the bar, and the staff would check where you were sitting, and bring your drink to you. We didn't have dinner, but asked if we could have some chips, which were brought to us in the lounge. Staff, rooms and the hotel in general did not disappoint. Extremely luxurious, and would stay in the hotel again

Very friendly staff - always willing to help The location was superb - the hotel is on an island in a lake surrounded by beautiful gardens. It was quiet and relaxing. For a Georgian hotel the plumbing was good and the shower reliable!! Excellent fish and chips in the cafe. The hotel's history is interesting: first known nature reserve (albeit created from sugar plantation wealth) owned by the inventor of the bird box of with potential for further recognition as a heritage green space. Make more of the history as a selling point.

Beautiful location and friendly staff. Rooms were clean and pleasant. Food excellent and available facilities with the spa are very good but expensive as not included with the hotel charge although there is a free swim available between 0700-0900. A heavy snowfall overnight enhanced the beauty of the property. There is also a very enjoyable and well kept golf course surrounding the lake worthy of a round.

Stayed for a wedding party. As the party was in the main house and we were staying in the Hall, the receptionist kindly relocated us to the hotel as the weather was bad and to avoid us getting wet, very thoughtful gesture 😀 Room was large and warm and had proper Yorkshire teabags, bonus!

Tracey

The room was beautiful and very large and the bed was extremely comfy, the spa facilities were small but nice to use and the food (evening meal and breakfast) was very nice. Staff was very professional and polite and went above and beyond to make the experience very pleasant.
